ABOUT THE Artist

I’m a grown up. Chronic artist. Descendent of master craftspeople and folk artists, can’t stop won’t stop.

I’m also a philosophy teacher.

And a parent.

I’m great at laundry, good at sewing, and learning to manage my emotions.

My work as an educator is symbiotic with my work as a maker, and vice versa. Focused on tangibility, I teach concepts with the real world in mind, and also make with the real world in mind. When sourcing materials, I seek out natural materials or found/vintage/antique pieces. Stone, wood, bone, fibers - I love it, and I like collecting techniques, tune in. Sustainability and limiting waste are first principles in my workshop and creativity.

ABOUT THE JEWELRY

Many pieces employ diverse techniques from diverse materials from traditional metalsmithing to woodworking, textile fabrication to mixed media applications, and techniques I’ve developed in playing with mediums.

All metals are jeweler’s brass, sterling silver, or stainless steel. Each has their best fit both aesthetically and in functionality.

JEWELRY care

When caring for your one of a kind jewelry, practice care. A good guideline for care is “last on, first off” when getting yourself ready. Always avoid water exposure, and hair/skin products. All these can cause oxidation or reactions for your precious pieces.
Sterling and Brass can both be polished/cleaned with jewelry cleaning cloths which will remove oxidation. If you have patina that you like on pieces, proceed with caution.
